ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT BIOTECHNOLOGY/BIOCHEMISTRY/MICROBIOLOGY

The Department was established in 1994 Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari and Dr. Kalidindi Suryanarayana Raju Arts and Science College has been established in 1974 by the SVKP Arts and Science College Association with the objective ofbringing Technical,

Scientific, Arts, and Commerce Education to the doorsteps of the rural population of the area.

The Department has its own library with 138 Books. The Department has well equippedLaboratories. B. Sc., Biotechnology programme was started during the academic year 1994-1995 with the aim of Bringing and Sharpening young talents in rural area in the field ofBiotechnology with the support of philanthropic Management, talented and well experiencedfaculty and infrastructure the Department is shining in all aspects by producing 30 successful batches. Many of them have occupied the prominent positions.

Department provides certificate courses in Bioinformatics, Tissue culture techniques &Clinical laboratory techniques to support the students for their placement in health & Pharmaceutical industries.

        Department has academic linkages with various organizations to provide guest lectures, Field visits and to provide internships for the students. Faculty participate actively in organizing as well as attending seminars, Workshops and Webinars presenting papers to update their knowledge.

In collaboration withThe NSS and Red Ribbon Club of our college, Students are given awareness on the spread of AIDS, precautionary measures etc.  The Department is actively involved in Blood donation programmes and Blood group   identification programmes.
